The Cinderwell is the oldest district in Greyhaven — a tangle of workshops, foundries, and cramped housing pressed against the city's southern wall. It has been burning one thing or another for nine hundred years. It knows how to keep its lights on.
It is no longer keeping its lights on.
Ashen Foundations is an urban investigation adventure for levels 2–3. Something is consuming the Cinderwell's lantern oil faster than the district can replace it, and the darkness is growing from the inside out.
Overview
Ashen Foundations is a district-level investigation set in Greyhaven's Cinderwell, the city's oldest industrial quarter. Lanterns are going dark ahead of schedule. Supplies are being stolen or spoiled. Workers are afraid to go into the lower foundry levels after dark. And someone with a long memory is taking advantage of all of it.
The adventure rewards investigation and social play. Players must talk to frightened workers, navigate district politics, follow the oil trail, and eventually descend into the foundations of a city that is older than anyone living remembers.
