*Unique to Sunderwake.* When a creature within range drops to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to bind its departing soul to its body, preventing it from slipping through the fractures in Mordath's domain. A spectral silver chain, visible only to you and the dying creature, connects the body to a faint luminous shape hovering just above it; the soul, caught mid-departure. For the duration of the spell, the following effects apply: - The creature automatically stabilizes and cannot die from failed death saving throws. - The creature's body is preserved as though under the effect of *Gentle Repose*. - If the creature would be raised from the dead during this period (via *Revivify*, healing magic to restore HP, etc.), the resurrection or healing is performed with advantage on any associated checks, and the creature returns with an additional 2d6 hit points beyond what the healing spell would normally restore. - The tethered soul cannot be captured, consumed, or redirected by any effect short of a Tier 7 or higher spell. When the spell ends, if the creature has not been revived, the tether dissolves and the soul departs normally. The creature dies (and the clock for *Revivify* begins from this moment). The spell is an act of profound metaphysical intervention, holding a soul on the threshold of the Void. Clerics of Mordath view this spell with deep ambivalence: it preserves the soul from the Void's taint, but it also delays the clean ending that Mordath intended. The GM may call for a Corruption check for the caster, particularly for repeated use.
