The mightiest spell a mortal creature can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter the very foundations of reality in accord with your desires. The safest use of this spell is to duplicate any spell of Tier 8 or lower, you don't need to meet any requirements, including costly components. The spell simply takes effect. If you use *Wish* for anything beyond duplicating a spell, the GM adjudicates the result. The greater the wish, the greater the chance that something goes wrong. This spell might simply fail, the effect might only partially be achieved, or you might suffer unforeseen consequences. **After casting Wish for anything beyond spell duplication:** - You take 1d10 necrotic damage per spell tier you can access (9d10 for a full caster at 17th level or higher). - You gain 3 points of Strain (even if you are not a Sorcerer). - **You gain 1 point of Corruption.** - There is a 33% chance you can never cast *Wish* again. *Wish* is Aethon's final echo; the original intent of his gift taken to its absolute extreme. To reshape reality through will alone. Every time it is cast, the ley lines shudder, the Shroud thins by a fraction no instrument can measure, and somewhere, a Void fracture widens by a hair's breadth. The gods gave humanity magic. *Wish* is what happens when humanity takes that gift and pushes it past every boundary the gods tried to maintain. --- # Appendix: Spell Quick Reference by Class The following lists summarize which unique and setting-specific spells from this compendium are available to each class.
